    "Crimson"-like PHP-editor for KDE

    I read: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=752224
I did google the subject and found a lot of editors.
But I haven't found a real answer yet.

In Windows I used Crimson editor (www.crimsoneditor.com)
What is a real alternative for Crimson in Linux when using KDE.
I'm not looking for some what-you-see-is-what-you-get-editor.
Neither for a program that adds code (like Frontpage does for example).

Just a "basic" editor with :
Block-selections (for example 10 rows, only select the second character)
    Tabbed file opening
    PHP-syntax-highlighting
Not displaying line numbers (or an option to turn that off)
not vi/vim or alike. They just don't work nice, even nano is more user-friendly.

Geany, can do everything listed, including block selection, although it's a little tricky:

Click once, then Ctrl+Shift+Click to form a "block" selection.

    It's GTK-based, though.

Thanks. It looks like it will do the job.
Need some time to get used to these colors, but that's no problem. For example, the comments (//comment or /*comment*/) are green in Crimson, where Geany does highlight everything within "quotation marks" in green. But I think that I'll get used to that within a couple of days.

The CTRL+Shift+Click-way to select a block is actually better than Crimson was, because Crimson did change the mode completely and seemed to reformat every opened file to make block-mode possible.

Thanks. As I found out, it isn't. I actually have OpenSuse running yet (KDE) and Ubuntu (Gnome). Suse has kwrite installed but not kate.

The reasons I posted the question here are because the Ubuntu-community is said to be much more active and I have an account for this forum.
