    Display server broken? what?

Greetingz again, sorry for so many topic but seems from linux I learn everyday. Well I was whatching a game trailer on youtube, on my amd64 ubuntu 9.10 machine and suddently my display shut down and when moving the mouse got back running. A weird icon appeard near the clock and weather...when moving my cursor on it it says...your display server is broken...and it points me to this link http://blogs.gnome.org/hughsie/2009/...val-of-bodges/

What is this, and how can I fix it?

I read that blog article but I don't understand how to patch this guide. None of you have gone through this situation?

    Solved? How?
I just saw that message while running very CPU intensive software with Wine.

Unhappy Re: Display server broken? what?

Had a similar experience. It did not say the display server was broken, but the display window for the video just stayed black, then a multi colored display appeared on top, then it all vanished. Nothing played...

Only last night (on Lucid RC1 with all updates installed) it all worked perfectly. I assume it's youtube an and not lucid.

    Did anyone experience this?

    Re: Display server broken? what?

I solved the problem: Deleted the 64-bit alpha version from adobe and installed the (32-bit?) flash-installer from the ubuntu repos. Everything functions now. Just one question: What is this ongoing discussion on several forums re flash 64-bit all about?
