Anyone got this trick to work on 10.10? Looks like its been re-broken better than ever.

Yup, mine works in 10.10. That's the first one I tried it on.

[UNSOLVED] Cannot suspend or hibernate Asus N61J Laptop

Hmmmm, thats odd. Even with this fix I get the exact same issue I had previous to 10.10. I wonder why this isn't working for me. I'm on a G73jh, but the fix did work until now like a charm. Bummer.

Whoops. So my bad. I had a few commands in the file that I had meant for another terminal tee hee! Nevermind I read it twenty times but "cd" in the middle of the file somehow went unnoticed.

Worked on my Gigabyte T1005 with a small change. I needed to unbind the usb in /sys/bus/pci/drivers/xhci_hcd/ and obviously replace all ehci with xhci in 20_custom-xhci_hcd.

Re: Cannot suspend or hibernate Asus N61J Laptop

This solution works with some modifications on my new Asus N43JF with USB3.0

What worked was I had to make a
    /etc/pm/sleep.d/20_custom-ehci_hc
for the ehci devices per John Dias's description
and a seperate (maybe not neccesary)
    /etc/pm/sleep.d/20_custom-xhci_hc
for my xhci devices (wich have different addresses then the ehci)

    to fix the problem....

the /etc/pm/config.d/usb3-suspend-workaround file did not solve the problem for me so I skipped it.

    Broken for me as well...

    Asus G73JH
    Ubuntu 10.10 w/ PAE kernel

I can successfully suspend once. If I try to suspend again, it won't properly wake back up. Hibernation is a complete no-go. It launches my screensaver and then hangs.

Also had to disable xhci like OskarV proposed. Now works on N71JQ.

Also worked with N73JF. I had to disable both ehci and xhci.
