Output to TV

I would like to output to my TV, but I have a non-HD TV that only has composite and component inputs, and my laptop only has a VGA output.

I'm looking for hardware/software combo recommendations so I can play back my backed-up DVDs in my living room. I'm running Karmic. Thanks in advance.

Get a PC to TV converter. It takes the VGA from your PC's connector, and converts it to S-Video or component outputs. You'll need a separate audio cable if you want to have the sound go through the TV, though. I got one at Fry's, but Google should find a few in your area, or from online resellers. Mine is a KWorld brand and works OK.
