    Proprietary drivers not in use?

Im running an Acer Aspire 5810TZ, with 9.10. Seems that im not using any of my proprietary drivers and was wondering if there is a solution to this..?
Everything runs smooth as is but I would like to have some of the cool effects and would love to have the use of my DVD RW drive. Any help or tips would be awesome, thanks.

I don't really think theres anything you could use proprietary drivers for. It doesn't have either a ATI or Nvidia graphics device. You can enable graphic effects as it is now, and the 4500HD should be able to cope with them just fine. DVDRW should also work.

well for some reason though i cant burn dvds, it doesnt even register that there is a blank dvd in the drive. as for the graphics i enabled them, but it doesnt do anything, i cant even make it do the rain drops effect..

Instead of just bumping, you would do better opening a new thread with a title more appropriate to the problem you're trying to solve.

The title "proprietary drivers" applies in nearly all cases to either ATI or Nvidia video drivers (neither of which your machine uses), or to wireless drivers (which you have not mentioned).

If your DVD drive can not burn DVDs, that is an entirely different problem and you need a new thread to address that.
    Ubuntu 14.04, Mint 17; MS Win 8.1.
