    Boots to Grub before OS starts

    Hi Guys, when I launch my Kubuntu (9.10), it goes to the command prompt where it asks for my username/password and then goes to a regular command prompt. After sitting for about 10 seconds, it then boots into the OS. Any thoughts as to why? And how can I change this?
