    gedit plugin confusion

sorry if this is a repost x1000 but it's late, i've been at work for 13+ hours and i can't figure this out.

With that said. I tried to add the "Align" plug in. I downloaded all the files, i put the in the gedit-2/plugins/ directory. I killed gedit and restarted, went to edit preferences/plugins and when i click the box for Align the Align name and description turn gray and i can't activate it. Any ideas? This plugin seems to be the cure for my data frustrations so all help is greatly greatly appreciated.

The same thing happens to every plugin i add. Do i need to run a make or configure of some sort?

Thanks for the reply. I did look through this and no go. Everything seems right but it just turns gray.

The location is meant to be where you put it but SOMEBODY thought it would be a good idea to put them elsewhere just for UBUNTU.

    Look in /usr/lib/gedit-2/plugins
