DVD Playback -- Am I already legal?

i'm running ubuntu 9.04, and was wondering if I can play DVDs and still remain legal using libdvdcss2. I have:

an xbox 360 -- can play dvds
windows 7 home premium upgrade retail (not currently installed) -- plays dvd out of the box (i think, doesn't it? it did for me) with wmp
dvd drive in my computer that ubuntu is on, that came with vista home premium oem which is no longer on here (one purchased on an older computer as well)

The answer depends on where you live. For example, in the U.S., Microsoft paid the patent holder a small royalty in order to provide the ability to play DVDs in Home Premium. If you were to get a computer with the "Starter edition," it will not play DVDs.
