    What's all the fuss about?

I've used Ubuntu before and frankly, I don't see any real change in the OS other than the splash screen at boot and the logo.....other than that, nothing has changed....everything is still in the same area, same colors...blah, blah, blah...there's no drivers for my printer which is a Lexmark X4530, and there's no drivers for my logitech Quickcam for Notebooks...the screen and my touchpad freeze after I configure the time and zone/weather, which lasts about 10 minutes or so.

If Ubuntu really wants to make a statement, then they should implement the aero glass feature as done with Windows Vista and 7. Also better flexibility with configuring network adapters....come on Ubuntu, listen to the people...please.

maybe it's just me, but i feel that ubuntu has always been a million times more customizable than windows or OS X. I've been using ubuntu since 8.04 and i love it!

Emerald has many many many Vista-like themes. IMO, vista looks almost boring compared to some of the over the top effects you can do through compiz/beryl/emerald/gnome.

just my opinion! look into beryl/emerald if you haven't before.

You may want to look at kubuntu if you want flashy sparkly desktop.

Remember this is Ubuntu, not a Windows mockup.

This dude probably never tried to alter themes or stuff, and thought the default is as good as it gets.

We want functionality, not flashy bits and peices.

I prefer boring old interfaces. At least I can have a choice now.
