    Unhappy Keyboard layout changes ignored

    For some reason, whatever layout I choose under System -> Preferences -> Keyboard is ignored. I first installed an additional language from System -> Administration -> Language Support and then added a layout. Choosing it, setting it as default or clicking "Apply system-wide" doesn't do anything observable. Any ideas what might be wrong?

    Have you tried rebooting after making those changes?
