Ubuntu 9.10 install and gts 250 video cards help please
Ok so im pretty new to ubuntu a very basic user, im in the process of switching about 5 systems in my house over to it. Ive switched all except my main computer sucessfully. So Ive installed ubuntu 9.10, did all the updates everything went great...
So next I attempt to activate my nvidia driver in the hardware menu as i hear this works, it downloads and installs and then reboots to a warning that my system is running in low graphics mode...
Ok so i figured maybe said driver is incompatabile with my card so fine i download the driver for my card from nvidia.
I use crtl alt f1 to boot into the command prompt and run
service gdm stop
and access the installer and run it...
It installs fine, looks good the i restart the gdm with
service gdm start
and it boots up fine till the white ubunu logo its flashes for about 5 seconds and my display goes blank...
I need my video cards for what im doing so please help...
here are my specs...
AMD X2 750 Proccessor
Asus M4n72-e Mobo
8gbs of ddr2 800 ram
Asus ENGTS 250 video card x2
any help would be appreciated this is my last step in getting the microsoft monkey off my back..
