I had the same problem and it fixed it for me too.

P.S Why don't you flag the thread as SOLVED?

Sorry is it not already marked as solved? Or did an admin do that for me or something?

It's always nice to see other people solving problems from the threads you make

Also, is it not already marked as solved? Or did an admin do that for me just now or something?

I'm sure it wasn't marked as solved, anyways I'm sorry if you already marked it solved.

Well, not solved for me and I have no idea what business it has trying to reconfigure LILO:
    sudo apt-get clean
    me@ubuntuME:~$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
    Setting up initramfs-tools (0.92bubuntu53) ...
    update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)

    Processing triggers for initramfs-tools ...
    update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-19-generic
ERROR lilo fails for new /boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-19-generic:

    Warning: LBA32 addressing assumed
Warning: /dev/sdd3 is not on the first disk
    Added Karmic9.10
    Added vmlinuzSlack13
    Added LinuxOLD
    Fatal: Default image doesn't exist.
dpkg: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
