    HP NW8440 Slow Pointing Stick

I've just bought an off-lease HP nw8440 and am on day 3 of a fresh karmic install. My issue is this. I (unlike most people, it seems) love the pointing stick (trackpoint, whatever) but it seems like it is just a little too slow. I have tried to adjust the speed under System > Preferences > Mouse (Pointer Speed and Sensitivity). They don't seem to have much effect or at least as much as I am wanting). After setting higher, the touchpad seems to have been affected, but not the pointing stick so much.

Is there a utility or xorg config statement that can speed this up for me?

Figured out that adjusting the sensitivity *down* seemed to make it more responsive. Huh, what'll they think of next.

Still not as responsive as I'd like, but much better all in all.
