Ubuntu Desktop VNC from windows vista

Hi.. So heres the deal.

I have set up a remote desktop on my ubuntu karmic machine, with
a password. (and I can connect to it, from itself).

I can also connect to it from the windows vista laptop using tightVNC view.

I see my desktop, and move my mouse around however, I can control the desktop through the tightvnc client, but I don't see whats happening in the client.

(ie, i can use the mose to double click icons the desktop and move windows around, and also type but the client window does refresh).


anyone had this proplem, and ideas, any other clients i could try?

so i have emerald running.

i did this on the command line

metacity --replace

and now I connect fine.. cool
