As I understand it, Firefox doesn't conform to Gnome desktop standards, so it's not compatible with the Global Menu.

I am interested in finding a fix to this as well. I will keep searching.
I would also like it to not show the titles of applications that don't have windows. That annoys me.

This bugs me, no pun intended, but I really want to find a fix for this.
Same here. Epiphany is the default web browser for gnome and works with gnome-global-menu but I'd really like to see firefox, thunderbird, and open office work with it.
