I have started partitioning the first pc. the partitioning is as following: 8 Gb swap, 50 Gb ext4 data section/no flags, / 10 Gb and in that order. This way I can make a disk image of / which is small and will be stored on the server and it will move across the server quick enough. Then I will go through and partition all the lap tops using puppy linux. Then I will copy the disk image of / onto all the / partitions on all the laptops. Then I will install grub2 on each machine so that they can boot. with the / being at the end of the partitions i can easily expand it if need be. the 50 Gb data section can be used for the administrator to back up the image of / and if the server goes down then the users can store everything to /temp.
this will save time and i will save time not having to figure out FAI. reading the manual was a mind bender. I think i may have to create a flow chart for that one.
