    Looking for Ubuntu Mentor

    Hello all,

I have been playing with Ubuntu for several months and have finally converted over. There is no more microsoft windows in my house. I am excited and nervous about this.

I am also a high school phyiscs teacher. I have recently won a grant and with this money I have purchased 12 laptops and a small server. All the aforementioned machines are 64 bit and brand new. Shinnies for the classroom. I am hoping to set up a small network and administrate the lap tops from the server. I wish to use Ubuntu on all the machines.

In order to do this I need to learn. I have been reading a lot and playing with Ubuntu on my personal machines. Reading and Playing is nice, however, I really need to find a handful of people who would not mind the occasional email or phone call to help me through things I can not figure out on my own.

If you would like to help me and also earn a life long friend please let me know. I love the Ubuntu community and what it stands for. I am also going to use part of my physics budget every school year to donate to various communities in exchange for their fine software and their excellent support.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

    frodo

I'm no expert and I'm not a genious either, but what I can offer you is to try to do some digging for you if the need arises. It would give me a chance to learn some more as well.

If there is any small way in which I might be of service, please contact me. As you can tell from my bean count, I ask a lot of questions, and the people on the forums have been outstanding at helping me along the way. If there is any small way I can help someone else I would love to.

    Best of luck to you!

    Dave

Well I doubt if you will be wanting to ring me in Germany...
I can help a bit with the things I have encountered, and run out of ideas quick outside of that, but I will keep an eye out for your threads when I am here. I like your approach. There should be more Linux in schools.

I feel like were in Lord of The Rings. Everyone is laying down what they can offer to Frodo and committing to help him on his journey. Were like the fellowship.

Wow..... I need to get a life.
