I've recently got back into Xfce, but one thing I do miss about Gnome is the feature that plays a wav or mp3 by just hovering over the file with your pointer. Is there any way I can get Xfce to do that as well?
Thanks...

Unfortunately that feature has not been implemented in Thunar.
I believe in the development in Xfce 4.8 has a lot of new functionality, so you may want to have a look at the Xfce website for development updates.
Of course, you can still use Nautilus as your file manager in Xfce, and this will enable you to have the audio previews. Just remember to change the Nautilus launcher in Xfce to 'nautilus --no-desktop' otherwise nautilus will take over the desktop.
Cheers.
