Requset for screenshot of GTK app under KDE

    Hello,

This might seem like a strange request, but you see: I want to write a cross-platform GUI app and was weighing my GUI library options. Can anyone please post a screenshot of GIMP (or any other GTK app) running under KDE? This is because I've heard that GTK apps look awful under KDE, and vice versa for Qt under GNOME.

    Thanks,

Here we go - it's some bits of the GIMP, with a KDE app ("Krita") in the background for comparison. I'm using gtk-engines-qt.

To be honest, I think they look nicer. I've never seen any problems.

GTK Apps only look bad under KDE if you have them configured wrong. You can set KDE to "Use my KDE theme in GTK apps," which will use the "Gtk-QT" engine to make all your GTK apps look the same as your KDE ones (though with a few graphical glitches).

You can also use a theme such as QTcurve or Metatheme, which works on both GTK and QT.
