    10.04 alpha3 problem.

    I am running 8.04 lts.
I downloaded and burned to disk 10.04 alpha3 64bit, and tried to run it from the disk. It was not successful. (32bit subsequently was.)
Since then, at every switch-on I get the update notification star in the top panel and instructions to insert the lucid disk if I click on it.
I don't want to install lucid yet.
How can I tell my machine to stop offering me this installation?

Have you tried loading the Update Manager (System > Administration menu) and set it to "Never" Show new distribution releases.

The attached screenshot is from Lucid, but I'd guess it will be fairly similar to what you have.

Remove the Lucid Cd as a sources from your sources.list.

System > Administration > Software Sources and un-tick the Lucid Cd box.

    That's it!
    Thanks very much.

    I'll mark it solved.
