The Fedora Elctronics Lab looks very neat http://spins.fedoraproject.org/fel/#portfolio . Thinks we can get something similiar to Ubuntu?

Moved to CC.
wow, this looks nice.
I could use something like this.
Speaking of Fedora. I tried Fedora 12 last night and it kicked my *** on the first go around. I tried to install an NVidia driver and my descent into the black screen of death was fast and final. Fedora is definitely not for the newcomer. I pulled off a second install this morning and didn't even try to install an Nvidia driver. The distro looks solid as all get out, but... damn, they don't make it easy for desktop users.
[Edit: And the software looks great - could use it to build better poems... ]

You can have them in Ubuntu, it's just a remaster of Fedora with all the apps included.
Geda applications are available as .deb files:;

What is gEDA?
The gEDA project has produced and continues working on a full GPL'd suite and toolkit of Electronic Design Automation tools. These tools are used for electrical circuit design, schematic capture, simulation, prototyping, and production. Currently, the gEDA project offers a mature suite of free software applications for electronics design, including schematic capture, attribute management, bill of materials (BOM) generation, netlisting into over 20 netlist formats, analog and digital simulation, and printed circuit board (PCB) layout.
oh lol.. I actually have gEDA installed
Ubuntu has the Debien-science packages which include a bunch of electronics schematic making and testing programs. Ksimus was my favorite program last semester when I was taking Digital Logic.
