Question I want to suspend autoswitching wireless routers

Ubuntu's being too helpful (if you can believe it).

I have a wireless router (Yarona) in the front room, but my neighbor has a router too (dlink). dlink's signal is stronger than Yarona's in my kitchen. Even tho Yarona is strong enough to reach the kitchen, my netbook starts pirating from dlink and I'd like it to stop doing that.

Ideally, if there was a way to tell ubuntu not to use dlink unless I explicitly tell it to that would be great. I'd be almost as happy to manually go from net to net via the network icon in the top bar of Classic Ubuntu.

    Suggestions?

Talking Re: I want to suspend autoswitching wireless routers

Sorry, I think I found the answer on my own seconds after posting the question. The wireless icon in the classic ubuntu top bar has edit connections... at the bottom, I unchecked Connect Automatically for dlink. That should make it manual only with no adverse side effects, right?

I was tempted to just remove my original post, but answered it instead in case someone else can benefit from this little nugget of wisdom.
