I have the following combination

Ubuntu Desktop 9.10 (32-Bit) and Asus Xonar D1 Sound Card

It is a fresh install and all is well as you would expect with Ubuntu! Sound works great.

My only problem is this card has an internal SP-DIF output which feeds an input on my graphics card to send audio down its HDMI output. Under Vista this worked a treat.

The hardware has not changed just the operating system, any idea how to get Ubuntu to do this? Under Vista and using the driver provided by Asus one of the output modes along with Analog and Digital (optical out) was SP-DIF.

Any help with this at all is appreciated.

Thanks

Chris.
