    Re: MP3 PLAYER Issue!

[facepalms at your player's manufacturer for no having a viewable instruction book online, not at you]

    you could
    Code:
    sudo apt-get nautilus
    then
    Code:
    gksu nautilus

Also see your player for a "reset to defaults" or similar option

    Re: MP3 PLAYER Issue!

    Right, sudo apt-get Nautilus yields
    "E: Invalid Operation Nautilus"

    ???

I got the instruction manual and surprisingly there's no help for anything but Windows...
their online help is ludicrously bad and I know they're just going to tell me that Linux isn't supported.

I'm using a Windows XP emulator on here to play some games, is that of use?

    Re: MP3 PLAYER Issue!

"Nautilus" should be "nautilus". No capitals.

Edit: I was looking for instructions for telling device to reset itself to factory settings. If the nautilus file browser works, there will be no need to reformat/reset to factory defaults

Yeah, sorry, I should've been more clear - I just copied and pasted the text from your post, still not working though.

ok. Go to System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager.

    Install nautilus from there

Hmmm. It is trying to get the packages off a cd drive, leading me to think that you have disabled repositories

I tried to download that and got this

    Re: MP3 PLAYER Issue!

    404 Not found.

I've not really tinkered with Xubuntu much, I just use it for web/browsing and a bit of nerdery...

Not messed with any of the settings programmes... I'm feeling lost, thanks for trying.
