    Pidgin Connect Error

I keep getting an error in Pidgin. I reconnect and 99% of the time it does the same thing. Once I am in, it's fine, until I quit/logout/shutdown/restart/etc.

    Re: Pidgin Connect Error

I had the same problem. I'm now using a different server to correct this. Open Pidgin and open accounts. Then, select your Yahoo account and press modify. A new window will pop up. Select the advanced tab and change the Pager Server to:

    cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com

Then try reconnecting to Yahoo. I hope this gets the problem solved for you.

    Re: Pidgin Connect Error

Pidgin isn't working for me at school, but it does work at home. It worked before though. I know the school has network issues.

It used to work on my Desktop PC there running Windows 7, but then stopped working there and doens't work on my laptop (Ubuntu 9.04).

It can't resolve cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com, but when I ping it that works.

Is there something I can do to diagnose what's wrong, other than a ping?
