Re: FOSS game 0 A.D. seeks more developers

Well I compiled the game and when it starts I see a nice start screen but there is a problem with the sound, it's like there are bees or flies in the sound.
So I took my photo camera to capture this problem so you guys could see it.

But then after a second start it worked, the sound was ok and I played a few seconds the game.

Then by 3rd start I had the same problem again but after a few seconds the sound/audio became normal and I captured that.

Thanks, andlinux. Follow this thread to find out what happens with your thoughtful bug report. I expect some developers who are more technically competent than me will take care of it.

The wildfire games forums are probably the fastest way get in contact.

As for IRC, the weekly programmer meetings (#0ad on QuakeNet) start at 16:30 GMT. That's best time to stop by on IRC.

Well, should I report in here if it's not letting me install from the playdeb? Ubuntu 9.10 here.

You'll likely get a much faster response if you post directly on the wildfire games forums here. However, you can post here if you want.

Re: FOSS game 0 A.D. seeks more developers

andlinux: 0 A.D. expert Philip says:

I think that's just a problem with Ubuntu 9.10's versions of OpenAL and PulseAudio, which quite a few people have experienced (and which affects other games that use OpenAL). I heard a while ago that it should be fixed in newer Ubuntus, so hopefully that's the case.
