    Ubuntu/Suse diff's?

    hi folks
    will be taking a cert course with the local college. they use Suse Enterprise server distro as their base system in their courses. Question, what are the big differences i will have to get used to in Suse comming from Ubuntu?

    Yast: yet another setup tool. [I dislike it]
    This one tool made all the difference to me. Everything else: gui, menus, are also altered but can be changed.
    Oh, and SLED [SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop] requires payment yearly for updates.
    Just read up on YAST.

    They might not have sudo installed (or does SUSE come with it?)

    Also, I think SUSE is primarily a user of the .rpm packages, not the .deb packages. As I'm assuming you won't be messing around with their packages, this shouldn't be an issue.

    If they use it as a server, you most likely will be using the command line I'm assuming. If that's the case, the biggest differences will be the use of zypper/rpm instead of the Debian tools. Also some configuration files will be in different locations.
