No, that rather means that almost no software is able to deal with the additional data.
Try 'sudo evtest /dev/input/eventX' (you have to do a bit of trial and error to find out which X is your touchscreen). When the dual-touch is working properly, you should be seeing various reports with IDs 57, 53 and 54 in addition to the normal mouse X/Y reports.
