    PanP6 Windows 7 Drivers

Okay, so I installed Windows 7 on my PanP6 (I know, I know... blasphemy! I just wanted to play a few games, I swear!). The only two drivers that are not installed by default are the nVidia drivers, which are easy enough to get a hold of. However, I still had two devices missing in the device manager. After using Google to look for the hardware IDs, I found out what was missing and thought I would share it with anyone else who keeps Windows as a dual boot.

The drivers missing were for the media-card reader. It's the JMB38X MS SD SD/MMC xD Card Reader Driver and you can get it on HP's website here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...s=2093&lang=en

I did the same thing with Win7 on my Panp7. Unfortunately, one must in order to play new computer games, and to fully tap into the power this thing has.

    Send an email to support@system76.com

That is what I did, and Tom will give you a link to the drivers.

FYI, some extra drivers, utilities, and tools can be downloaded from Intel.

Lee, did you have any issues installing the Windows 7 drivers on your panp7? I just installed Windows 7 in a dual-boot environment and downloaded/installed all the drivers listed at http://www.knowledge76.com/index.php/Panp7 web site. Is this the place where you installed all your drivers?

Anyways, I couldn't get wifi to work. In Windows 7 device manager, it listed 2 devices as not having a driver: Network Controller and PCI Simple Communication Controller.

I'm just wondering if you encounter similar problem and if you have a solution. The knowledge76.com web page mentioned that System76 provides those drivers but they don't support them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Lee, I went to the Intel download URL you listed and was able to download their latest wifi Link 5100 driver. After installing this driver, wifi works. And under device manager, it no longer shows Network Controller as not having a driver. But it's still showing PCI Simple Communication Controller as not having a driver. Do you have any idea what device it could be that needs the driver?
