ICS from Ubuntu to PS3, no UPNP functionality

I recently (after HOURS of messing with my network settings) got my PS3 hooked up to the internet using my Ubuntu box (on wireless network) and a network cable from my computer to my PS3 via Internet Connection Sharing. However when it runs the network diagnostics on my my PS3 UPNP does not work. Now I'm trying to get my PS3 to play music from my Macbook's (on the wireless network) Media server but my PS3 can't find the media server. Is this because I'm not getting the UPNP functionality on my PS3 or will my PS3 just never be able to see my Macbook?

I have the exact same problem. Is there a way to run a UPNP server on ubuntu to open ports for ps3? Forwarding the ports with firestarter didn't work.
