    Re: Ubuntu Torrent Client

The only thing in Ktorrent that is similar to uTorrent is the GUI interface. It can't hold a candle to uTorrent as far as working well. The two top rated programmes are Transmission and Deluge. Transmission IMO is the best of the two as it's lightweight and just works better. Deluge is good if you want all the GUI stuff i.e. graphs and tables but I've had it interfere with my internet whilst running.

Used to use deluge until I joined private torrent network and deluge didnt work on their tracker. Now use uTorrent and it works like a dream.

i use deluge and like it a lot. its pretty good in daemon mode, and runs nicely in the background, then you can fire up the gui whenever you need it either on the same system, a different one on the network, or one on the other side of the world

Azureus in classic GUI mode. I like the fact that it separates downloading from seeding. Also, multi-platform support. Easy to configure. ConsoleUI for when I'm SSHing home from work (need the tunnel to go around websense ).
