Help Please!

Sorry, I am a complete noobie, and I would like to apologise if this is in the wrong place.

Downloaded the live CD and felt brave and said install Ubuntu and de-install Windows on my laptop (HPG7000). Now my laptop does nothing and there is nothing on the hard drive, and it does not boot up.

OOPS!

Please help

You did not specify enough
1. first did you actaully run the live CD to see if your system will work well.
2. did the installation complete or not.

3. what actually happens when you trie to boo.
4. how did you know your hard disk has nothing , if the installation had completed there were supposed to be files on the hard disk....

When I put the live CD in the drive the first time, it booted and asked if I wanted to have Ubuntu installed alongside Windows. I selected Ubuntu only. Half way through it stopped and reported an error, but haqd wiped my hard drive.
Tried re-booting with the live CD, but nothing worked.

Hope that helps, my technical knowledge is not that great.

You cannot recover files from a failed Ubuntu installiation. Please try again and post a screenshot.

Unless you can still acess the hard drive from a Live CD.
