Hello,
I am very new to the world of Ubuntu and I am about to purchase a laptop. I am an artist who is very intrigued by all the options on the linux platform.
I beleive it will be the Fujistu t900.
I have installed and tinkered with Ubuntu Studio on a borrowed laptop (dell inspirion 1545) and have a lot of hassles with the wifi set up and still havent found a way to get it to work.
My questions are
- With the fujitsu t900, will I see any major hurdles for ubuntu studio?
- Do you advise I install original ubuntu and then make it into ubuntu studio?
- Does Ubuntu have anything that Ubuntu Studio does not?
I plan to order the laptop with this config and add ram later
Intel Core i7-620m 2.66 ghz
Dual Digitizer(pen plus capacitive multitouch)
wxga led display with webcam
2 gb ram
160 gb hard drive
dual-layer dvd writer
Atheros xspan hb92 OR Intel centrino 6200
Bluetooth wireless v2.1
Here are the full specs
I understand that a lot of that hardware is on the t5010 that fujitsu offers and seems to work in ubuntu, due to this page
Though I have not been able to find any info about the wifi options or the dual digitizer options.
Which wifi chip will be better and less hassel with Ubuntu?
I am leaning toward the Atheros.
Will the dual digitizer work with ubuntu?
I am thinkiing of getting the dual digitizer.
I know there are a lot of questions, I have been looking for the answeres for hours upon hours.
Can anyone help?
Thank you for your time.
