Re: Driver for Intel Wireless 6200 LAN card

Please can someone confirm whether the Intel Centrino Wireless Advance-N 6200 LAN card works on Ubuntu 12.10? I assume it does.

edit: this thread suggests that the Intel 6200 LAN card does work with Linux but a confirmation that it works on 12.10 would be great

    Mine works perfectly:
    *-network
    description: Wireless interface
    product: Centrino Advanced-N 6200
    vendor: Intel Corporation
    physical id: 0
    bus info: pci@0000:03:00.0
    logical name: wlan0
    version: 35
    serial: xx:94:6b:99:55:xx
    width: 64 bits
    clock: 33MHz
capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical wireless
    configuration: broadcast=yes driver=iwlwifi driverversion=3.5.0-21-generic firmware=9.221.4.1 build 25532 ip=192.168.1.12 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11abgn
    resources: irq:43 memory:f2400000-f2401fff
The driver in question, iwlwifi, often will not do N speeds, but I don't stream Blu-Ray to my laptop over the LAN so it's not an issue for me. If you are considering a laptop with an Intel wireless chipset vs. a Realtek, the Intel is what I'd recommend.
