    very kiosk mode needed

I'm trying to set up an Ubuntu box for a library in rural Ghana.

I want the students to have access to a -very- limited selection of software (Wikipedia for schools, Gutenberg, Marble) and nothing else. The computer will have nobody to maintain it once it is set up. I would like to get it locked down so tight that it can run without maintenance possibly for several years (hardware permitting). I don't even want the administrator account to be able to do much as I don't want teachers taking it away to do their personal work. I don't even want pen drives or cds to work!

I've been playing around in lockdown editor and user accounts, but it doesn't limit things enough. I don't want -anything- to be saved or changed once it's set up!

I'm considering Ubuntu Minimum CD sent through UCK to add gnome and educational software, then lockdown editor and unprivileged user?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I'm now thinking that using a live-cd is an elegant solution - nothing can be permanently changed! But I need a live-cd that doesn't have an 'install' option...

...and has lots of educational software included...

    A Xubuntu/Sugar live-Cd would be wonderful...
or a better way to 'kiosk' edubuntu....

I've been spending quality time with Google but just can't quite find the solution!

    Any ideas?
