First off i would like to give great thanks to all the people that have taken the time to answer all the newcomers questions. (not gonna say newbie cuz i'm one of 'em).
Through all of your answers i was able to solve all my problems with a multi disk multi os system without asking a single question. to that end , if linux os is to ever become a serious player in the home pc arena ,someone is going to have to devote some time to grub. I can appreciate the complex simplicity of the grub program , it's very good at what it does. but when it doesn't, it's very bad. I spent 3 days getting everything to working the way I wanted it to. i can assure you , most windows users have way less tenacity and patience. that interpreted means "no linux for me" Which is a shame because i have found it to be quite exciting. most windows users barely get by pressing buttons ,, writing code? WTF.. it's not going to happen . and reading for days before writing this code? surely you jest?,, Gui for grub-pc is the only way I see for linux to make a mark on the home pc world. Again , after digging into grub for the laat 3 days , i can appreciate it's function and teh amount of programming and time that went into it, but the truth is most windows users will never dig that deep.
