Wow! I battled for two evenings with my limited tech knowledge but I finally succeeded in getting my new printer networked. Not surprisingly, I found it to be very easy once I tried and failed a number of other ways. For others that are tech challenged like me but are committed to make this ubuntu thing work for them, here is what you do (using 9.04 and a Linksys wireless router):
*Make sure that your firewall is off*
1) Connect the printer to the wireless router with a Cat-5 cable.
2) Press the SecureEasySetup botton on the router.
3) Wait for it to stop flashing.
4) On your computer, go to system --> Admin --> Printing
5) Go to new printer
6) Your printer should be by the network tab with an IP address already assigned
7) Print test page and you are done!
