As much as I like my Mac, I miss Linux. Is there a way I can get it on my iMac? It has Snow Leapord and Windows 7 already on it.

I was considering combining my mac with ubuntu, and I think you should just try it.
Insert the install disk and boot from cd and follow the instrux for partitioning etc, or just use the cd and see how it works.
I ended up with an acer whose keypad is sloppy and nowhere as nice as my mac, so give it a try, you can have it all! (or at least you should try)
(I guess I should remind you to backup your mac first... right?

So, just do it normally, then? What about bootloaders?

I wonder why I am the only one answering here.
Well. Do you have the ubuntu cd burned already?
If so, put it in and turn on the mac, but boot from the cd.
(=hold down the c key while it boots up.
This suspends the boot and redirects it to the cd player for booting.)
Then you will get the ubuntu cd options...
do you want to use the ubuntu from the cd instead of the mac os?
or do you want to create a partition for the ubuntu?
there is one other option, I forget.
You can always pull away and eject the cd, so I 'd say try this out.
I do not know what a bootloader is, sorry

Some good reading for you.

Thank you, I shall try that probably after I complete my Science Fair project (gosh, those things are so annoying).

You might want to try to start from your model here:

Through trial and error (it took a while to fix the results of a faulty set of directions ) I found out how to do it:
1. Install rEFIt
2. If it doesn't work, wait for the next version. If it works, go to step 3.
3. Install Linux - GRUB goes on Linux partition
4. Install Windows - should work without problems - will update later.
