    Need Skype Camera Recommendation

I'm looking for a good all purpose camera for use with Skype. Day to day, I'm using an external 24" LCD, but sometimes travel and have a Thinkpad x61 laptop that this might need to clip to.

    What works well for you?

Thanks for this, but am hoping for a personal recommendation... like "Here's what I've been using, works great..."

I have had several Logitech webcams that have all worked well. That does not mean that ALL Logitech webcams work with Ubuntu.

My current webcam is a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 - the best there is in my opinion ... and it works out of the box.

99% of the old and new cams work out of the box now days
the hard part is finding a program to use with it
if you have a webcam plug it in

    open a terminal type ( gstreamer-properties ) click enter
click video try v4l1 or v4l2
    click the bottom test button

get (cheese and wxcam ) 1 of the 2 will see your cam
if a black window in cheese click edit preference make the cam size smaller
