    ELO touchscreen woes

I bought an elo touchscreen add-on for my laptop with an USB interface. It is being recognized by my computer and by the X-server. It does work, but the touchscreen area is not mapped correctly to my screen. I can not touch the area within 10 mm from the edge of the screen. There are some posts about calibrating, involving some settings in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Any calibration values I put in xorg.conf do not seem to matter at all.

Can somebody tell me why some things in xorg.conf seem to be read and some things don't?

Or can somebody tell me how to calibrate touchscreens?

Any help is very much appreciated!

Thanks for the link! It looks exactly like what I need. Unfortunately I'll have to wait a week before I get home to try it out... If I don't forget I'll post whether it works or not for me.
