Complete wipe the hard drive or replace the hard drive totally. Then re-install Windows free of crapware and add some flavour of Linux to the mix.
And surely the sticker is hardly worthy of flames and urination?![]()
The first thing I do with any new computer is before booting for the first time or doing anything I make an image file with Ghost or True Image. *If* you end up selling it in a few years or have to return it the image file will return it to its "as new" status.
Here's what I do when I get a new computer:
First, check that it works using whatever software is included with it. Make sure that nobody set up me the bomb.
Second, if it doesn't have some form of Linux on it, install Ubuntu as a dual-boot with whatever it did come with.
Third, remove the Windows sticker (assuming it came with Windows) and BURNINATE it!
Fourth, install Unison and use it to retrieve my music collection from another computer.
