Gfx Card not working on dell 1525

Hey, I normally don't have any problems with installing any version of linux and getting it to work for what I want to do, but this is really annoying I've searched all over the place and cant find out how to get the gfx card to work with desktop effects on the dell 1525... I'd suppose you enable xgl but i can't just install it like I used to be able to... That method is probbally outdated though.... any ideas? Oh and it is 9.04 64 bit.

System > Administration > Hardware Drivers

without knowing the graphic card and what not can't offer more help then that sorry.

Hey don't worry about it, I don't need the desktop effects, I've found out that at least the 3d acceleration is working really well without issue, so I guess my problem is solved.
