    gftp editor

I feel rather daft asking this but I can't find the option. I have gftp connected to a remote site and I want to edit a file. I click on the edit option and get an error that I must specify an editor in the options dialogue. I can't find the options dialogue can someone tell me where it is. Sorry

Your posting was 3 weeks ago, so I don't know if you are still interested, but when you have gFTP open, click on FTP int the menu list (up top) and then select Options. Under General is a spot for your editor program. Mine is blank and so is probably yours.

    Re: gftp editor

This is older, but I just ran into the same thing in 10.04.

Under the FTP menu item on the top menu of gFTP is now Preferences and not Options, as the error message says. When opening that dialog, I entered /usr/bin/gedit in the Editor box. When using, I then had an issue with character coding, but selecting Western worked for me once gedit was open.

    Hope this helps.
