Thanks for the tutorial, I managed to install the dictionary successfully and sound worked. But on the second day, sound didn't work anymore. I have adobe flash installed. Do you have any clue ?
Thanks !
Do you know where does LDOCE5 look for the flash library. I have downloaded the lastest flash 64 bit from Adobe and replaced it with the default one used by firefox and chrome. Afterwards, sound worked again in LDOCE5, but just few hours later, it didn't work anymore, I have not even restarted the machine.
It's really weird to me ... So I think I need a way to tell LDOCE5 explicitly where I should look for the flash library ....
Hi,
I FOUND the solution. It was Google Chrome that somehow make the flash in LDOCE5 malfunctions. As soon as I start Google Chrome, sound doesn't work in LDOCE5 anymore, but before that it worked fine !
So I removed Google Chrome, and installed Chromium instead, sound works now perfectly !
Thanks for your tip!
I have both chrome and chromium but I've never experienced any problem with sound.
I have to correct the statement. It was actually because of the flashblock extension I used in Chrome and not Chrome itself
I'm the newbe, i've just install ubuntu 10.10 a few days ago, I try to install Longman dictionary LEOCD 5 ( I copied the disk in to the computer) but i can't not install, could please show me in detail how to install it. Thanks alot
What kind of error message do you have ? Try read the tutorial by eltama thoroughly, everything is written there, and you also don't need to copy the disk into your hard drive.
