    Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goooal . I MADE MY MIC TO WORK!!!
    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)
    sudo shutdown -r now
    Code:
    alsamixer
press F4 (to list all capturing devices) or press F5 to list all audio device conf.
Raise up any bar/option you think it's MIC related ("M" will toggle between mute/unmute,just in case you need it too). Play with it a little bit.

Then close and try your mic (or just try your mic)!

It is still low, but hey: better than nothing. Try Preferences>Sound> [amplify your input signal]

s00per. My laptop is now 100% linux proof. Hehe

this sucks . . . I am sickk of carrying around a cheap external mic . . . hopfully this fix will get pushed to me upstream now that I am subscribed to ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa

i wanted to say that its still far from "desirable". It works better but definitely not desirable... so i don't use skype with linux, for example.
I have to shout in the mic to hear some sound back.
