As far as I know, there are 2 programs for karaoke purposes:
http://performous.org/
http://ultrastardx.sourceforge.net/
And there is also a program for editing lyrics:
http://www.karlyriceditor.com/
But what I was really looking for was something with "OSD karaoke", instead of a full fledged application.
By this I mean, an application or plugin to a music player (eg, amarok, exaile, atunes, jajuk, audacious, ???) that shows the lyrics from the karaoke file, but in a OSD.
Such an amazing piece of software (which would be the best invention since Gutterberg printing), would allow me to listen to the music and karaoke while I work/study.
In theory, any media player that has OSD and plugins support can allow for such a feature. My question is...
Does anything currently exists?
BTW, the lyrics format I'm talking about is something like this (which is well known by the 2 programs I mentioned):
: 0 3 11 Oh,
: 4 3 9 ~
: 8 2 9 ba
: 12 2 7 by
: 16 2 9 don't
: 20 2 7 you
: 24 3 11 know
: 28 3 9 ~
: 32 2 9 I
: 36 4 9 suf
: 44 3 9 fer?
: 48 7 7 ~
- 61
: 64 3 11 Oh,
: 68 3 9 ~
: 72 2 9 ba
: 76 2 7 by
: 80 2 9 can
: 84 2 7 you
: 88 4 11 hear
: 96 2 14 me
: 100 3 9 moan?
: 104 14 11 ~
