Cool Need help with scanModem ?

Hi everyone, brand new to Linux and have chosen Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic. I did not want dual boot so other OS is gone. Have internet from other sources, but problem currently is having scanModem.gz detect my internal modem. What I get when I "gunzip" the scanModem is "unexpected end of file" .

No idea of where to go from here. Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Sounds as if you just had a corrupt download. Why not download the file
    again?

Marvin and those folks at linmodems.org can offer much better help for
their script, and the output of what the script finds.

Good Luck.......Hardware (Serial) US Robotics modems work best with Linux.
