    Why do people have problems installing KDE packages on Gnome?

    As above. I love linux and i prefer it but i don't understand why people make a big fuss about this. What am i missing?

    It pulls in a lot of dependencies, and they feel out of place.

    Strange I never heard any KDE users complain about using gnome apps.

    don't use your appearance settings, but this is a thing of the past if you use the qt-gtk-engine in kde or qgtkstyle in gnome/xfce/gtk.
