    No sound?

    After I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 from 9.04, my sound stopped working. My friend with the same laptop said that he fixed it by going into Sound Preferences --> Hardware and changing the option from digital to analog, or something like that. But when I go there, nothing is listed under Hardware. Thanks for your help.

    This happened to me. I solved it by installing instead of upgrading. PITA.
