I'm having this problem as well.
It seems consistent, though.
for instance, one of my favorite tech websites www.boygeniusreport.com never comes up

It almost sounds like some DNS problem to me too.
The Paypal and BGR sites opened OK for me.
Random musing, which could turn out to be irrelevant: I wonder if the common factor is some kind of DNSBL blocking on the DNS lookup. Places to check include http://blacklist.org and http://debouncer.com

I had the same problem with new lynx install. It was an IPV6 issue - disable it.

Also clear cache and clear dns cache in FF afterwards.

I disabled IPV6 in Ubuntu and Firefox and am still experiencing some problems with image loading. Now I'm just waiting on webpages to start displaying errors. :\ I'll keep you all posted.
well, good news is Chrome is officially released for Linux now. Problem solved.
I think it is a router problem.
I stumbled upon this: http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wi...es/td-p/285318
Well it's interesting to note that I was having this problem only in Google Chrome Beta and Dev. Now that Chrome has moved out of Beta, the problem has disappeared.
Are you experiencing this in other browsers?
try this one

also, if your router has a DNS cache, clear it.
also, you can force your DNS server to your ISPs in your IP settings to bypass your router.
